At 10am, Shawno woke me up to tell me that I had to move my Jeep. He had no idea why. When I looked outside, there was a mobile home on a trailer. I joked that the neighbours are moving to get away from him but Shawno told me that the person is getting a new mobile home delivered. I moved the Jeep.
I updated day 4′s trip report and then headed out with Shawno to Best Buy to have a look for a new map for my Navman. During this time, we had encounters with the Best Buy staff, Navman & the GPS Store that you’ll hear more about on Erk Pod 178. It was raining (unusual for SLO) with some groundwater in places.
After spending 90 minutes or so at Best Buy, Shawno and I went cruising around SLO and recorded episode 178 of Erk Pod. Then we went to Radioshack and picked up a half price Navman. Then back to Best Buy to return the software we brought. I set up the Navman to get us back to Shawno’s and gave him the sticker protecting the screen that is now Shawno’s Ghetto Navman that I put on his side of the Jeep. We found out later that Shawno’s Ghetto Navman shows a real place in Connecticut!

By this time, Jen had finished work so we picked her up while continuing to record episode 178 while enroute to Evos. I can recommend the Air Fries. More wacky shots and then back to Hyper Nonsense HQ for show prep prior to recording Hyper Nonsense tonight.

After Evos we went back to the ranch and I edited episode 178 and Shawno and Jen got reaady for Hyper Nonsense. We then recorded an epic episode of Hyper Nonsense (HN149/Erk Pod EP179) in the Hyper Nonsense studio that was a lot of fun.

We finished the night with signing the Erk Pod American Wall of Fame and chatting to my mum. Also, I picked up some copies of Jen’s book Haiku of Frustration which she signed for me.

You should call this trip “Erk eats his way across America”… so far all I see is food and pictures of signs outside eating establishments.
Fun times, fun times!
I love your Hooters shirt!
